Frank Kniest (The Fugitive, Batman Forever, Primal Fear, Spinal Tap) brings his sound design expertise to the Seattle Film Institute for one night only.

This lecture will detail the artistic construction and implementation of the eight separate sound elements necessary to creating a successful soundtrack for a motion picture.  Discussion will cover both the logistical challenges and creative opportunities in gathering and producing a matrix of sound elements related to story, character, action and the vision of the movie.  Examples will be viewed from movies and discussed regarding the creation of the overall sound experience.

Students are encouraged to ask question throughout the seminar and pose opinions on the subject of sound for the movies.
