July 16 6pm-7:30pm Pacific Time - Geoff Miller

Writing for Sci-Fi Genre

Weather you’re doing a Western in space (Star Trek); a WWII movie set a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away (Star Wars); or movie set in a computer (The Matrix, Tron); SciFi offers screenwriters opportunities—and pitfalls—like no other genre.  We’ll take a look at what makes great SciFi great, and how to make sure your own SciFi piece doesn’t fall into a black hole.

Geof Miller is a screenwriter, producer, development consultant, and screenwriting teacher. He’s written for most major studios, and is in active development on an Untitled Thriller with Anonymous Content. His classes at the UW, Seattle U, and SFI were described by students as “inspiring,” “enlightening,” and “f*cking awesome!” https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0588387/
